Think about the quotes that we have learned so far this year. Pick one of the following quotes and describe how it would relate to your book. Think about the motives of the characters, the setting, and/or the events in the story to help you make a connection. Who would say this quote in your story? When and why would they share it?

Today is the first day of the rest of your life." I said this because it first baby her mom had without it dieing. But her mom is coughing up blood. So she trying to go to Camden so she can get a doctor so they will try to help her. Start her new life with the baby.
ReplyDeleteThe quote that best represents the book ELIXIR would be "some peole only feel the rain, others just get wet." The character who would say thid would be Ben Clea's international advisor. Ben would say this at would be at Dalt's dinner becuase this is where Ben and Clea talk about Clea work and about personal problems. He would say this when Clea and Rayan were disagreeing about faith or something like that because they believe in differet things when it comes to things like that. Also, because Clea has lost her father in the last year or so and she wants to talk to her mother about it ,but her mother just pushes her away. So that is why Ben would say this quote to Clea.

In my book this relates to the character Dana--the buly. This relates to Dana because when someone does something bad to him he does something bad back. For example on the bus, Dana was strangling Roy , so Roy punched him in the face so he could breathe,(In front of all the poeple on the bus). Roy had messed up his face and broke his Nose. No one had ever done that before. The next Day Roy went to Dana's house to apologies but Dana doesn't accept it, and says he is goingto get Roy back, bad, when he returns to school.
Another example is when Dana tried to kill Roy in the janitors closet, a girl found out and beat up Dana, a hung him on the flagpole only wearing his underpants, and was he mad. Roy was afraid of what Dana might do to him so he went to his house again to talk to Dana and he told him that Dana should fight to get Revenge, and that they should just talk there problems off. Dana disagreed with this completely, for he is the kind of person who represents the quote, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. There was no changing his mind
The quote "today is the first day of the rest of your life" would relate to HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERERS STONE because Harry has found out that he is a wizard and has been accepted to Hogwarts[best wizard school in the world]. This means that his life has changed dramatically and it will never be the same ever again. I know this because before he was just an average boy with mean foster parents and now he is a wizard attending Hogwarts. The person who would say this quote to Harry would be Hagrid because he is the one who told Harry he is a wizard and the one who explained everything to him. He would probably say this quote when Harry arrives from the train station. He would probably say it then because that will be Harry's first time at Hogwarts.
ReplyDeleteIn my story DIARY OF A WHIMPY KID by Jeff Kinney, the quote that have to fit my story is 2] "Be kind: for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle" because Gregory has to deal with bullies at school, and everyone at home have a battle with themselves. I say this because sense new years eve just past everybody at home set a goal to make them a better person like going to gym and not eating all junk food. But they seem to be having a hard time sticking to those goals. Plus every kid almost has a bully to deal with.

ReplyDeleteI could use this quote because Katniss is meeting a lot of new people for surviving in the arena and everyone in distict twelve in my book currently is in a food shortage and the head peacekeeper got changed and the new one is more strict. So everyone that Katniss meets will be fighting a battle to stay alive and to keep there families alive as well

ReplyDeleteA quote that would relate to my book is, "Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle." This quote relates to my book because the main character in my story, Mick Jhonshon a high school running back never goes to party's or hangs out with his friends when they invite him and instead goes to the gym to work out. So when he refuses to go to another party his best friend Drew questions him about it. And Mick gets upset at him and all his other friends. What his friends don't know is that Mick is taking steroids because he is afraid he will lose his starting spot on the team. So the person who would say this quote might be Drew's Dad, and he would say this because Drew doesn't know that Mick is taking steroids and is ashamed of it.
My book THE PEOPLE OF SPARKS would best fit the quote "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." The quote would fit my book because these underground people came out to surface, and have no idea what to do. When they find a nearby settlement, they see things they've never seen before like animals, the sky, and trees. They have to get used to living this way and eventually, the underground citizens must have to make a settlement of their own, and adapt to life on the surface.

ReplyDeleteThe quote I am going to use is “Be kind: for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle”. Because when Emily went out with John at the end of the date Emily has to pay for the dinner. Then when she when to go get a cab and John took it. I think John is tight on money.
The book i am reading is Inexusable by Chris Lynch. The quote that i think would best describe my character and setting is ;Be kind:for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle. This relates to my story because the main character Keir is fighting a battle in his mind trying to convince himself that what happened with GiGi Boudakin is not true that he is a good guy. The person who would share this quote in the story is maybe Keirs dad Ray to help him get through this period in his life.
ReplyDeleteFor my story, THE ABSOLUTELY TRUE DIARY OF A PART TIME INDIAN, a quote that could have been used is, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail". This quote could have been used when Junior's teacher was talking to him about changing schools. Junior wanted to make something of his life, and go to a quality school. His teacher suggested he go to a school off of the Indian reservation so that he may get a better education. Junior knew that he would get called a traitor, but he also wanted to start over, and learn new things. This quote describes the situation perfectly, because Junior was told to be a leader, and strive for success, even though most people don't like him for not following tradition of Indians.

The four girls get a telegram for the army letting them know that their father is ill and their mother needs to come at once. As all the girls help Jo seems to never be returning for her errands in town when she gets back she gives her mom the money she earned in town from selling her hair. I predict that their father will live and get to come home to see his four beautiful daughters again.
I would choose 6).'AN EYE FOR AN EYE,A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.Because in one chapter Patricia Grandpa was sent to jail and the cop hit him on the head with a bully mug. I think Uncle Buddy would of hit him he would hit them back. But Grandpa might have hit them back if he didn't have an concssion.
ReplyDeleteNumber 5("We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are." relates to my book because of how the girl named Mary her mother (Jen, who died) is married to this very famous basketball player and how she is his daughter so he thinks this girl is trying to ruin my career now that i am probably the most famous basketball player, then he thinks again maybe i am her father because I dated her mother in college or high school. I say that Number 5 is the best choice because he is so caught up in his glamour life that he is not even thinking twice about what him and Jen created so I think he needs to think about it. The one question everybody is asking and wondering about is why would Jen tell her daughter right when she was going to die.
